Sustained Release
| |
Due to the acid-resistant lacquer of Aspirin Cardio® enteric-coated tablets,
the active substance is not released in the stomach but in the alkaline milieu of the intestine. The gastric passage time of Aspirin Cardio® leads to a delayed onset of action.
| |
Even a single dose of Aspirin® has an effect on thrombocyte function for several days (depending on the life span and turnover of the platelets). Due to this long-lasting effect, even very low doses of Aspirin® are sufficient to maintain the antiplatelet action within several days.
Aspirin Cardio® can effectively be used for long-term inhibition of platelet aggregation.
